QUETTA: President Supreme Court Bar Association Amanullah Kanrani has said, reference against Justice Qazi Faez Essa filed in Supreme Judicial Council in order to keep deprive Balochistan from the post of Chief Justice of Pakistan termed the reference as mala fide act.

Addressing a news conference on Wednesday in Quetta Press Club Kanrani said, lawyers’ community would stage countrywide rallies and protests on June 14^th against indiscrimination with Justice Qazi Essa while we would burn reference’s cope at the entrance of Supreme Judicial Council,

“Following internal and external threats to the country, institutions should refrain from confrontation and cooperation with each other for the development and prosperity of Pakistan.” Kanrani said.

President High Court Association Muhammad Iqbal Kasi, Member Balochistan Bar Council Rahib Buledi and Asif Reki were accompanied with Kanrani.

“Federal Government filed a baseless reference against Justice Qazi Faez Eassa who is in the row to become country’s Chief Justice in next three years, we believe the move violates constitution’s article 10/A.” Kanrani said added apart from hearing complaints against 350 judges, hearing against Qazi Essa would be an act of mala fide.

President Supreme Court said, halting Qazi Essa form becoming country’s Chief Justice would be another attack on Balochistan’s rights.

“The reference would be treason with the blood of more than 60 lawyers of Balochistan who sacrificed their lives for the supremacy of law in the country.

Talking on the division among lawyers community President Balochistan Association Asif Reki said, we have suspended membership of Vice-President Supreme Court Bar Association Saleem Akhtar and other lawyers opposing lawyers’ protest on June 14,

“All lawyers body in the country are united to defend Justice Qazi Faez Essa and we would move toward Islamabad in a convoy.”
