QUETTA: Hazara Community in the provincial capital Quetta celebrated Hazara Culture Day on Saturday organized by Hazara Democratic Party with full zeal and fervor in which a large number of people particularly youth and children participated by wearing traditional Hazargi dress.

Many stalls depicting Hazara community’s living style displayed in the Qayoum Papa Stadium at Marriabad Quetta where majority wearing traditional Hazargi caps and dresses performed on Hazargi folk music.

Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani inaugurated the Hazaragi Culture Day. He visited various stalls where he was informed regarding Hazara culture and tasted Hazargi dished prepared in the Hazargi Cultural Festival.

Addressing the festival CM Jam Kamal said, Balochistan is a bunch of flowers where various nations have been living from decades, “Today we have been showing the culture of Hazara community because culture is our identity which should be preserved.”

“English language has become source of development but we should know that without promoting our culture and mother tongue we can’t put the society on development track.” CM Balochistan added.

Advisor to Chief Minister for Sports and Culture and Chairman Hazara Democratic Party Abdul Khaliq Hazara, MPA Qadir Nail and provincial ministers were accompanied with CM Jam Kamal in the festival.

“Tough the Hazara community was plagued by terrorism from last 20 years while our youth being provoked toward hate but the new provincial government vowed to promote cultural activities in Balochistan.” Advisor for Sports and Culture Abdul Khaliq Hazara said.

He added, on social media call our community in large number have participated in Hazara Culture Day showing Hazargi culture to the world, “Provincial Government is committed to celebrate Hazara, Baloch, Punjabi, Sindhi and other cultural day in Balochistan.”

Beautiful Hazargi embroidery, Jewelry, household stuffs and handicrafts had been placed in the festival while children from various schools were seen siting inside camps by wearing traditional Hazargi dresses.

“I have established a Hazargi Stall called “Dokh” established with Hazargi traditional foods because we want to show our traditional dishes with other communities living in Balochistan.” Tazkeen Danish said.

Hawa Hassan who established a painting stall in the Hazargi Culture Festical said, these opportunities would allow other nations to know each other’s traditional and customs therefore such activities should be continued in future.

Many people from other communities have also participated in the festival.
