QUETTA: Provincial Health Department on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Child Life Foundation in order to ensure quality health services in child unit of Civil Hospital Quetta.

Secretary Health Hafiz Abdul Majid and CEO Child Life Foundation Dr. Ahsan Rabbani have signed the MoU during a ceremony held in Chief Minister House.

Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani, Health Minister Naseebullah Marri, Minister for Food Sardar Abdul Rehman Kethran and health officials were present in the ceremony.

Briefing CM Balochistan CLF’s officials said, the organization has been providing quality children health facilities in Sindh province while has sprawling experience in child treatment,

“CLF has been providing child treatment in seven Teaching Hospitals of Karachi while our doctors are still present in interior Sindh in order to ensure timely and quality health facilities for ailing children.” Ahsan Rabbani said.

According to the MoU, Balochistan Government would impart rupees 100 million grant to CLF while the organization would be responsible to ensure medicines, health equipment and appointments of doctors in Civil Hospitals’ child ward.

The CLF would install 26 child incubators, NICU Service and ICU service in Civil Hospitals’ child war and Out Door Patient Department (OPD).

“Four Consultants would be appointed under the supervision of BMC’s Professor in Child Department while child units would be fully functionalized till 2020 by Child Life Foundation.” CEO CLF informed the provincial cabinet members.

Secretary Health Hafiz Abdul Majid said, annualy half million children being died due to lack of health services in Balochistan added after CLF’s services the ration would be declined up to 80%.

Terming the initiative as an important progress toward child health facilities Chief Minister Jam Kamal said, health department remained our priority since we formed provincial government thus provincial government has been allocating immense sum for development of health department,

“Through help of private organization we would be able ensure provision of quality healthcare to our children.”

Jam Kamal directed health department to start implementation on establishing Emergency Rooms and Tele-Medicine in DHQs with the help of Child Life Foundation.

“By taking benefits of digital tele-medicine we can improve service of all District Headquarter Hospitals in Balochistan.” CM Balochistan added.
