QUETTA: Unfortunately previous government didn’t pay adequate attention toward livestock which has been termed as backbone of provincial economy, despite spending billions of rupees on Livestock the department foiled in yielding lucrative outcome. QUETTA: Unfortunately previous government didn’t pay adequate attention toward livestock which has been termed as backbone of provincial economy, despite spending billions of rupees on Livestock the department foiled in yielding lucrative outcome. Chairman Public Accounts Committee Akhtar Hussain Langove said.

He shared these views on Friday while chairing PAC Meeting to review new revelations regarding Livestock Department.

Provincial Minister Livestock Mitha Khan Kakar, Minister for Social Welfare Asadullah Baloch, Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai, Abdul Khaliq Hazarao, Secretary Livestock Dostain Jamaldini, MPA Sanaullah Baloch, Naseer Shahwani and other officiasl have attended the meeting.

Chairman PAC and Parliamentarians have stressed upon breeding of animals having quality breed added previous government distributed animals for breeding on favoritism which weakened the capacity of the department.

The meeting impugned over lending livestock department’s contract to a selected company while Chairman PAC ordered inquiry over the matter directed authorities to submit last five years’ performance report of the department.

“Public Accounts Committee would take strict action against officials involved in misuse of powers and corruption in livestock department.” Akhtar Hussain Langove said.

He also directed the livestock officials to submit detailed report of animal farms being run by livestock department and expenditure report.
