No need for new province in Sindh post-new LG system: PM

KARACHI: Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was against creation of another province in Sindh. After introduction of PTI’s New Local Bodies system there would be no need of any kind of division in Sindh province.

Prime Minister during a meeting held governor House in Karachi with a delegation of alliance parties in federal government, said that PTI was against the creation of new province in Sindh.

The Opposition Leader in Sindh Assembly Firdous Shamim Naqvi, PTI MPA Khurram Sher Zaman, Haleem Adil Sheikh, Faisal Vawda, Ashraf Qureshi, Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) Leader Pir Sadruddin Shah Rashdi, Former Chief Minister Sindh Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Pakistan Muslim League Functional (PML-F) MPA Nusrat Sehar Abbasi, Nand Kumar and others attend the meeting.

The meeting discussed overall political situation of Sindh, ongoing federal government development projects in the province and allied parties’ affairs.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that we will make sure the accountability in Pakistan. No thieves and dacoits who looted Pakistan’s money would not be given any relief, they would be just punished, said PM.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan has said that that the poverty alleviation from Pakistan was his mission for which the trade community must extend its support.

Prime Minister said the corruption during the previous government had marred the economy.

While In a meeting with a delegation of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and business community at Governor House Karachi, PM Imran said he wanted his government to be acknowledged as the most trade and investment friendly government.

The meeting was attended by the representatives from FPCCI, Karachi Chambers of Commerce, Employers Federation of Pakistan, Pakistan Ready-made Garments, Pakistan Leather Garments, Rice Export, Pakistan Automotive Parts, Pakistan Bedwear Exporters, Pakistan Denim Manufacturers, Towel Manufacturers, Pakistan Hosiery and other business sectors.

Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi and Commerce Advisor Abdul Razak Dawood were also present at this occasion.

“We have inherited a fragile economy. I cannot let the plunderers off,” PM remarked.

He told the delegation that the Federal government had appointed experts at the Federal Board of Revenue and State Bank of Pakistan.

Imran Khan urged the trade community to take advantage of the amnesty scheme announced by the government.

Prime Minister said the government desired the private sector to play a key role for bringing about the economic stability. The government would extend all out facilities for promotion of investment and business activities, Khan added.

Imran Khan said bringing ease of doing business, reforms in the FBR and creation of a conducive and friendly atmosphere for the business were among the government’s foremost priorities.

The delegation expressed confidence in the government’s fiscal policies and also put forward their suggestions to help achieve economic stability and targets.

Moreover, Prime Minister Imran Khan has chaired a meeting regarding Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme in Sindh at governor House in Karachi.

The Meeting was attend by Governor Sindh Imran Ismail Federal Minister Ali Zaidi, Faisal Vawda, PM advisor for Trade Abdul Razak Dawood, PM Advisor Naeem-ul-Haq, Businessman Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Zeghum Mehmood Rizvi, Arif Habib, Najeeb Haroon, Aftab Siddiqui, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, Samar Ali Khan, Saleh Ahmed Farooqi.

The Private sector present different suggestions to make Naya Pakistan Scheme more comprehensive and attractive for people during the meeting. It was also decided in meeting that Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme would be start in major cities in Sindh for the low income people.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said “Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme is key project of federal government.” The purpose of this scheme is only to providing house to the people earning low income in Pakistan, through this project we are trying to change their dreams in reality by providing cheaper houses, said PM.

These Housing projects would provide jobs opportunities to the youngsters in Sindh, said Imran Khan, adding that it would flourish business industry also in Sindh. The industrial sector would also be gets benefits as these schemes would starts in different cities of Sindh, he added.

PM said private sector is taking interest in this project and we appreciate them. Government desires that private sector would be our partner in Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme, said Khan.

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived Karachi on Friday afternoon, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail has welcomed the Primer at Quaid-e-Azam International Airport.
