SIBI: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Water Resources and Petroleum Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind has expressed concerns over the destruction caused by the recent flast flood in Bolan District, saying if relief is not provided, people will migrate to other places on a large scale.

“If the people affected by floods relocate, the thousand-year-old tradition of Bolan will come to an end,” warn Rind, who is also the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, Balochistan Chapter President while addressing the people during his visit to Dhadar on Sunday.

The PTI provincial president termed the destruction caused by the recent floods a tragedy.

Rind said the PTI was in power at the centre, while the Balochistan Awami Party in Balochistan and both the parties were coalition partners.

The PM’s special assistant said, “The vision of the Centre is to ensure welfare of the people, while the provincial government is striving to resolve their issues.”

He said, “Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan first priority is public service and the coming budget will meet the expectations of the public and provide relief to the poor.

“We are aware that the poor are facing high inflation and we are working on an emergency basis to provide relief to the public is the need of the hour.”

Rind said the opposition parties had the right to protest, but devising the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) was the responsibility of the provincial government.

Rind lamented that flood had caused enormous devastation in Kachhi with most of the people of the area rendered homeless and thousands of acres of crops and several cattle destroyed.
