QUETTA: Balochistan Food Authority on Monday carried-out operation against departmental stores selling unhygienic food items issued warning to many shops over poor cleanliness situation.

QUETTA: Balochistan Food Authority on Monday carried-out operation against departmental stores selling unhygienic food items issued warning to many shops over poor cleanliness situation.

Food Authorities’ teams led by DG BFA Bashir Ahmed vowed to take strict action against shop owners and departmental stores playing with human lives.

“Our teams visited numerous departmental stores in the provincial capital seizing mammoth cache of expiry food items which have been disposed-off by our teams.” Bashir Ahmed said added the store owners have been fined rupees one lakh.

“Our action against shop owners selling counterfeit and unhygienic food items would be continued across the province because following the direction of CM we can’t let anyone to play with human lives.” He said.

Director Monitoring Team of BFA Nida Kazmi has said, we have warned many departmental store owners on poor cleanliness situation and directed them to ensure cleanliness.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Food Authority (BFA)’s inspection team torched a large number of substandard food items, expired edible goods and other items which were seized from shopkeepers in various conducting operation in Quetta
On the occasion, Director Operations Nida Kazmi warned the fake food companies and shopkeepers that quality of food items and goods would be improved otherwise strict action would be taken against them under vision of the Balochistan Chief Minister and special directives of Director General Balochistan Food Authority, said press release issued here. No one will be tolerated to sell inferior edible items on people.
She said discrimination action will be continued against those traders involved in making false edible in order to ensure quality of food items for benefit of public health in the city.
