QUETTA: Awami National Party one of key coalition partner in Government of Balochistan has filed petition in Balochistan High Court against assimilation of Levis Force into Police in three districts of Balochistan.

Provincial Secretary General of Awami National Party Mabat Kaka filed a constitutional petition in Balochistan High Court requesting the court to cancel government’s notification in which Levis Force in three districts of Balochistan has been merged into police.

Provincial Home and Tribal Affairs Department has issued a notification last week announced to merge Levis Force into Police in Quetta, Gwadar and Lasbela. The Police have given powers to control law and order in three districts.

“The Provincial Government violated Balochistan Levis Force Act 2010 and merged the force without approving from Balochistan Assembly.” Mabat Kaka took stance in his petition called the notification as illegal.

The application requested the court to nullify the notification.

Awami National Party’s Parliamentary Leader and Provincial President Asghar Khan Achakzai expressed irk on provincial government’s decision to turn Three districts from B to A areas and directed his legal team to reach courts against provincial government’s illegal act.

He lamented on Jam Kamal led provincial government for not taking into confidence coalition partners while taking major provincial decision.
