QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday held a open court session at its office in Quetta and listened to complaints regarding different departments.

QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Thursday held a open court session at its office in Quetta and listened to complaints regarding different departments.

The session was chaired by director general NAB, Balochistan. He was given complaints regarding illegal recruitments in government departments.

The NAB director general issued instructions for immediate action on the complaints.

DG NAB Balochistan was also informed about misappropriation in government funds meant for development projects. He said the funds were sanctioned for uplift schemes in the province.

He vowed that indiscriminate action will continue for eradication of corruption.

On April 14, the National Accountability Bureau had released first quarterly report pertaining to corruption cases in Balochistan.

At least 12 people were apprehended in different money embezzlement cases, said the NAB Balochistan report, adding investigation was launched into 20 complaints, while 13 cases were referred to the relevant departments.

The spokesperson of NAB Balochistan said six references had been filed against corrupt officials of different departments.

“Several suspects were given punishments from the accountability courts,” he said.

Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal two weeks ago had said the NAB had recovered Rs 303 billion in different cases till date and deposited them to the national treasure.
