ISLAMABAD: Ambassador Sultanate of Oman, Sheikh Mohammed bin Omar bin Ahmed Al Marhoon has said that Oman and Pakistan enjoyed old brotherly relations which are strengthening with the passage of time. “Balochs living in Oman were never viewed as minority rather they are Omanis serving in different sectors and playing their role in the development of Oman,” he added.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Omar bin Ahmed Al Marhoon expressed these views while addressing at book launching ceremony of “Oman e Baloch” written by Jan Badini, as chief guest at Islamabad Club organized by Zind Academy, Global Peace and Balochistan Academy of Sciences. The book lunching ceremony was attended by ambassadors of Kuwait, Yemen, Morocco, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, senators, media persons and people hailing from various spheres of live.

The book titled “Oman-e-Baloch” written by Yar Jan Badini is regarding Balochs living in Oman, their history, language and culture.

Omani ambassador lauded Yar Jan Badini for publishing a book about Balochs of Oman and said it is a big contribution to help learn about the history of Balochs, and such efforts will further bolster bonds between two countries. “Balochs are brave, who are playing their role for the development of Oman,” he added.

Mr. Sheikh Mohammed said that Omani government treats equally all ethnic groups living in Oman and they enjoy equal opportunities to demonstrate their talent. “Baloch always stood with Oman in all hard periods,” he added.

Registrar Turbat University Ghulam Farooq Baloch, Professor Dr Hafeez Jamali and Farah Azeem Shah threw light on different aspects of Yar Jan Badini’s book and admired his effort. “Balochs are populated in various parts of the world for centuries and through research works of Yar Jan Badini we are having more knowledge and information about living, language, culture and history of Balochs,” they added.

Addressing the event, Yar Jan Badini said that he had written more than ten books regarding Balochs populated in different countries, the main purpose of this effort is to get more information about culture, language and history of Balochs who had migrated towards different countries centuries ago. “Such effort connects all Balochs with each other living various countries across the globe,” he added.

Yar Jan Badini thanked all ambassadors and guests for sparing time from their busy schedule and honored the book launching ceremony.

Concluding the ceremony, Senator Mir Kabeer Muhammad Shahi, who was also presiding the event, said that he feels pleased whenever he attends literary events. He said the book written by Yar Jan Badini is a treasure for Baloch which tells us the history of Balochs living in Oman, their culture and language. He said that Oman and Pakistan had close relations as a number of Pakistanis especially hailing from Balochistan populate in Oman.

“I recently visited Oman and got surprised to see Balochs serving in every sector and are well educated,” he said. Senator Abdul Kabir Muhammad Shahi said that Yar Jan Badini’s book “Oman-e-Baloch” will help our new generation to know about their culture, language and history. He said that Oman is amongst those developed countries which made progress very fast and this credit goes to Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said and his visionary leadership.

Earlier, Ambassador of Sultanate of Oman Sheikh Mohammed bin Omar bin Ahmed Al Marhoon and other guests formally launched the book and they were presented Balochi chadar.
