QUETTA: least 12 persons, including two officials of Counter Terrorism Depar5ment (CTD) have been injured in a bomb explosion in Dear Murad Jamali area of Nasirabad district on Monday night.

QUETTA: least 12 persons, including two officials of Counter Terrorism Depar5ment (CTD) have been injured in a bomb explosion in Dear Murad Jamali area of Nasirabad district on Monday night.

Police said that unknown terrorists planted explosive device in a motorcycle and parked it in Bus stand at main Quetta-Karachi national highway which was exploded when a vehicle of CTD reached at the site, resulting in injuring 12 people including CTD officials.

“The target of the blast was officials of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) who were traveling in the official vehicle of the department,” a senior police official said. “The explosive planted in the motorcycle detonated wit remote control.”

Soon after the blast police and personnel of Frontier Corps rushed to the site and shifted injured to District hospital Dera Murad Jamal. The condition of at least three injured is stated serious who were referred to Larkana for special treatment.

The blast was so powerful that heard several kilometers away from the blast site. Many push carts of vegetable and a rickshaw caught fire after the blast. Windowpanes of nearby buildings and shops were smashed due o impact of the powerful explosion.

Police identified the injured persons are Abdul Ghani Jonejo, Nisar Ahmed Pandrani, Shah Nawaz,  Ghulam Sarwar,  Muhammad Yaqoob, Mir Muhammad Jamali, Khadim Rind, Ali Mengal. The names of four other injured could not be known.

Security forces have stared investigation and launched a search operation in the area to trace out the elements involved in the blast. Some suspects were taken into custody for interrogation.
