Umar Baloch prolific striker of Pakistan football team died more than a decade but his memories are still fresh among fans. Famous football personalities of Pakistan considered him father of football, recently I had a prolonged discussion with FIFA referee Ahmed Jan who has been an admirer of him, Ahmed Jan has a depth of knowledge about football and its player he was often invited by various news channel for his input. Meanwhile I got to know that Umar Baloch was widely recognized in India and Pakistan because of his blistering game and clinical finishing, he has scored around 1000 goals in domestic and international football.

Meanwhile I got to know that Umar Baloch was widely recognized in India and Pakistan because of his blistering game and clinical finishing, he has scored around 1000 goals in domestic and international football.

Resident of Gul Muhammad lane lyari, he was lined up with legendary Dilip Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar in India when his soccer career was at its peak like the legend of subcontinent. As we know that Indian premier league, Indian Super League have been inviting foreign player to promote their football but remember aforementioned league once weredominated by Pakistan’s football players particularly lyarians . They had landed lavish contract from top plight of India Mohan Bagan, Calcutta Muhammadan etc,  that time government institution of Pakistan employing player for less than 300 rupees but Indian giants were awarding 4 thousand for one season contract because of their semi professional league structure.

Pakistan has been lagging behind as compared to Bangladesh and India although country is abundant from talent but malpractice, incompetence and lack of vision in PFF are the causes of demotion of this game ,on the other hand the soil keep producing junior stars as SAARC youth championship in Nepal was evident of their soccer skills.

There is a dire need of professional league system though which player could get benefits from it but pragmatic approach of PFF and insatiable race of thrown will not leave this game to invigorate beside player’s segment that has not been losing hope. They keep playing to keep this game alive, it can not be denied that soccer is a global game but there is saying that soccer played by poverty stricken people.

The tale of Umar Baloch is not finished here he left India and returned to Pakistan to play for KMC football team and later became a coach of Metropolitan corporation, his two sons have become soccer players but could not continue the legacy of Umar because he had distinguished quality. Indeed Pakistan has produced talented player like Umar Baloch, Ali Nawaz Baloch, Hasan Bachaya, Hussain clear etc the list is very long indeed. My aim to write this piece is to inform the new generation and football enthusiast that Pakistani soccer player were dominant in Indian league but now it is very far from us to get lavish contract from elite clubs therefore we have to put our league in order though which we can offer foreign players to come and play in Pakistan.
