QUETTA: Two people were killed and nine injured in Chatkan area of District Panjgur on Thursday after an IED fitted in a motorbike exploded.

QUETTA: Two people were killed and nine injured in Chatkan area of District Panjgur on Thursday after an IED fitted in a motorbike exploded.

According to Police, unknown persons parked an explosive laden motorbike inside a motor garage in Chatkan Bazar which exploded with a huge bang killing two people and injuring nine,

“The gas cylinder inside the motor workshop exploded with the IED blast and flamed engulfed the whole garage due to presence of petrol.” DPO Panjgur Jameel Ahmed said.

Law Enforcement Agencies flanked with rescue workers rushed to the site and cordoned-off the areas. The injured and bodies had been evacuated to DHQ Hospital for medical legal process.

The bodies were charred beyond recognition and kept in morgue for identification and one injured has been announced critical due to serious wounds.

Five vehicles completely, two vehicle partially and three motorbikes were destroyed in the blast while windowpanes of many shops had been damages.

“Unknown terrorists parked an IED fitted motorbike inside the garage and escaped which exploded with a remotely controlled device.” DPO Panjgur said added two to three kg explosive were used in the blast.

He added, terrorists wanted to target people who skipped armed struggle against the state and they arrived in the workshop to repair their vehicle.

So far no groups claimed the responsibility of the attack till the file was reported but Police force have lodged the First Information Report and started investigation.
