The 11th meeting of Apex Committee chaired by Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani has decided to pursue zero-tolerance policy against terrorism vowing to purge out menace of terrorism from Balochistan following fully implementation on National Action Plan.
The meeting stressed upon strong prosecution system in Balochistan, prevention of cyber-crime, fostering religious harmony, protection of minorities’ rights and full proof security for their worship place.
Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa, Provincial Home Minister Meer Zia Langove, Chief Secretary Dr. Akhtar Nazeer, Civil and Military officials were present in the meeting.
The meeting was agreed upon to prevent negative propaganda against National Security Institutes and decided to take speedy measures to highlight state’s narrative with full effectiveness.
On contrary, when it comes to tackling cyber-crime in Balochistan, the problems are two-fold. First, the hurried passing of the Pakistan Electronic Crimes Act in 2016 laid out an ill-defined set of laws that have been criticised for giving the state room to curb free speech, conduct surveillance with relative impunity, and unfairly prosecute citizens.
We do have a Cyber Act but we may bring a separate act on Cyber security or add another Cyber security chapter relating to suitable Cyber security in the act to cope with the issues. Balochistan and even Pakistan definitely needs an effective “National Cyber Security Act “to protect its people from local and alien Cyber hackers.
Beside that a political solution sought to the Balochistan issue. This may take time to clear the mess inherited from the past but the first steps need to be taken now. The Incumbent government needs to look into Balochistan grievances and redress them at the earliest.

The Provincial government has taken all seminaries & schools assets and offices of proscribe organizations, including Jamaat-ul- Dawa and Falah Insanyat into custody.
The local administration took action against proscribed organizations on the orders of Provincial Home Department, Heavy contingent of police and personnel of other law enforcement agencies cordoned off the offices of both the organizations near double road area and taken entire building and assets into custody.
