GWADAR: The fishermen of the port city of Gwadar have announced to re-lunch their postponed protest from Monday as the government failed to resolve the issue of changing the design of East-bay Express way.

GWADAR: The fishermen of the port city of Gwadar have announced to re-lunch their postponed protest from Monday as the government failed to resolve the issue of changing the design of East-bay Express way.

The President of Fishermen Alliance Committee, Khuda-i-Dad Wajo said this while speaking at a Press Conference, here on Saturday.

The local leaders of different political parties were present on the occasion. He said that the committee had postpone their protest three months back after the assurance of Balochistan Minister Information, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi and officials of the port authorities that through redesigning of East-bay Express way the centuries old livelihood of the fishermen of district Gwadar.

Mr. Wajo said that despite passage of three months no work was started for redesigning of the project and protection of the rights of fishermen so far. He said that fishermen of Gwadar were happy after construction of Gwadar Port and starting implementation on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) with the hope that the people of the port city will get benefit and their will lots jobs for them.

He said that instead of providing better facilities to the fishermen for continuing their centuries old earning livelihood profession, they were deprived of their way to reach up to the Sea in Gwadar for fishing.

The President of the Fishermen Alliance Committee said that the fishermen establish their protest camp at Musa corner from March 18 and a strike would be observe on March 21 with holding protest rally. He said that almost all political parties had already announced to support the protest of the fishermen.
