CHAGAI: Several beneficiaries of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) have complaint that biometric system for payment of their stipends had created several issues for them, of these, the major issue is the malfunction of their thumbs which were no longer verifiable due to hard work in order to get livelihood.

CHAGAI: Several beneficiaries of Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) have complaint that biometric system for payment of their stipends had created several issues for them, of these, the major issue is the malfunction of their thumbs which were no longer verifiable due to hard work in order to get livelihood.

While taking to local journalist at Dalbandin Press Club, they said the coverage and facilities of BISP were limited in Chagai district which population is scattered and almost half of the beneficiaries belong for flung areas which are deprived of necessary facilities in this regard.

“Before the family members used to debit the stipends of for living women but now they have to travel hundreds of kilometers to receive their payments.” the complaining women described.

According to BISP sources the biometric system was introduced to prevent any fraud in this regard, however there is lack of facilities and due coverage in most far-flung parts of Chagai district.

The beneficiaries demanded the higher authorities to get their issues resolved and review their decision regarding biometric system.
