QUETTA: Journalism is the fourth pillar of state. Media is developing with leaps and bounds. Owing to the speedy development of Media, the world has turned into a global village.

The Provincial Information Minister, Zahoor Buladi while addressing in the concluding session of six day long training program for the students of Journalism department in Balochistan University by Individual Land expressed pleasure over the rising interest of youth in the field of Journalism.

At the occasion, the Provincial Minister, Lala Abdul Rasheed Baloch, the provincial coordinator of Individual Land Hashim Kakar and others were present.

He said, unluckily, no serious measures were taken by successive governments for the development of journalism in province. The incumbent government under the leadership of Jam Kamal is taking prudent measures in this regard.

“I have remained the student of Journalism in Lahore. Thereby, I understand the importance of this field. But unluckily, the profession has never been taken seriously in Balochistan. “Buledi Added.

He said, right to information is the key element of every democracy worldwide. An effective body would be framed in Balochistan that would ensure the implementation of the right to information. Besides, a law would be approved in Balochistan government to ensure right to information.

Meanwhile, the provincial government gave indications towards the establishment of Balochistan Bank.  Through the establishment of this bank, jobs would be provided to the 2500 unemployed youth of the province.

He said, Media is playing instrumental role in the highlighting of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor. No one can deny the role of media in the development of country. The criticism is the right of media, yet criticism must be based on reformation.

He expressed pleasure over the management of training programs and attached hopes that University Management would arrange such kind of training programs for the student in near future.

He further said, through the personal interest of Vice Chancellor, Dr Javeed Iqbal, the students of Media studies have been given all necessary facilities.
