QUETTA: To secure the future of our children we have to win battle against notorious polio virus in Balochistan, unfortunately from last 24 years we couldn’t succeeded to eradicate polio virus from our country. Religious Scholars, Politicians and Civil Society members said in a Seminar held on Sunday.

MPA Nasrullah Zeeray, Coordinator Emergency Operation Centre Rashid Razzaq, Dr. Muhammad Gedi from WHO, Maulana Anwar ul Haq Haqqani, and others have addressed the Seminar held to discuss effects of polio and other diseases.

Briefing he Seminar regarding polio virus Dr. Aftab Kakar said, the polio virus spread through culminated water can entangled our children with lifetime disability and in some cases children could die,

“In 1988 the International community commenced war against polio virus, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria are the only countries in the world where polio virus still active while rest of the world purged out polio virus.” He added.

Addressing the Seinar Nasrullay Zeeray said, unfortunately people in our society still opposing Polio drops on religious grounds while our religion has allowed children treatment,

“To provide healthy future to our children we have to expelled all negative propaganda against anti-polio drops and administer our children with polio drops.” Zeeray said added religious scholars, lawyers, members of civil society and political parties have responsibilities to play their role to eradicate polio virus.

Sharing views in the Seminar Coordinator Emergency Operation Center Rashid Razzaq said, federal and provincial governments taking speedy steps against polio virus, due to lack of awareness still we have been facing refusal cases,

“The Provincial Government launching 10 days anti-polio drives in Quetta block comprising on Quetta Pishin and Qilla Abdullah because the virus still active in this block.” He added.

Religious Scholar Maulana Anwar ul Haq Haqqani said, religious scholars have answered all question regarding reservations over anti-polio drops, “We have been playing our role to end speculations against polio drops.”
