QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani has said, I have visited various government departments in previous five months but found lack of planning and sincerity that dwindled provincial economy lamented over plight of Pasni Fish Harbour.

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani has said, I have visited various government departments in previous five months but found lack of planning and sincerity that dwindled provincial economy lamented over plight of Pasni Fish Harbour.

“Unfortunately revenue generating Pasni Fish Harbour as non-function from last 10 years and the provincial government released grant of rupees 1.5 billion against salaries of Fish Harbour employees.” Jam Kamal expressed these views in a meeting to review the affairs of Pasni Harbour.

Provincial Minister for Information Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Finance Minister Arif Jan Muhammad Hassani, MPA Abdul Rasheed Baloch, Additional Chief Secretary for Planning and Development Sajjad Ahmed Bhutta and Advocate General Arbab Tahir were present in the meeting.

Secretary Fisheries Arshad Bugti and MD Pasni Fish Harbour briefed the meeting over regarding performance and financial affairs of Pasni Fish Harbour.

Addressing the meeting CM Jam Kamal said, Fisher Harbours and Jeties across the world were source of jobs and revenue but in our province the Fish Harbour depending on provincial government’s grant to pay salaries,

CM Balochistan directed authorities to review the mood of how to shift provincial Fish Harbours and Jaties under Public Private Partnership also said to advertise provincial Fish Harbour for interested investors.

The meeting was agreed upon to review new location for Fish Harbour as previous harbour was non-functional due mammoth quantity of sand and despite dredging it didn’t restore activities.

“The Provincial Government would secure the rights of local fishermen community at any cost.” CM Jam Kamal said and directed authorities to advertise digital farming for private companies.

He also directed fisheries department to prepare feasibility report regarding plans for modern mechanism of fishing, storage and supply to the market.
