Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of online Tax collection system of the Excise and Taxation Department, here on Tuesday, he said that to achieve this goal, steps are being taken increase the performance of tax collecting institutions as development process is linked with financial stability and strong structure for good governance in the province.

The founder of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Syed Saeed Ahmed Hashmi, Advisor to the Chief on Excise and Taxation  Malik Naeem Bazai provincial Ministers and other concerned officials were present on the occasion.

Jam Kamal said that it is matter of great happiness that Balochistan government has been introducing online tax collection system in the province through adopting modern technology, which will help in increasing provincial financial resources. “Through introducing new and modern tax collection system we wanted to safe the future of our coming generation making the province financially stable,” Chief Minister said.

He said that Balochistan was facing financial problem, which was reached on this position due to various reasons and it needs reforms, restructuring of the institutions, amendments in existing rules and service structure. He said that the system was going towards destruction and presently our pensions bill reached to Rs. 23 billion and till 2015 the government would pay Rs.200 billion in account of pension bill. ”

Presently our income in Rs. 15 billion and Islamabad give us Rs. 250 to 300 billion from federal taxes and GST. ” We want to enhance provincial financial resources up to Rs. 40 billion in coming years,” Jam Kamal said adding that we are trying to providing jobs to the people of this province He  congratulated Excise and Taxation department for launching online tax collecting system successfully. Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan said that Balochistan government will announce around 24 thousand vacancies for the people of Balochistan at the end of this month.

Meanwhile, Advisor for Excise and Taxation Malik Naeem Bazai said that “Excise department is collecting 6 types of taxes for the provincial and federal government in Balochistan. Our tax collection target is more than 2 billion for this year, he informed.
He stated that “we have linked the system with NADRA for the vehicle’s registrations, adding that provincial government has introduced a 7 features smart card which will be alternate of registration book.”

Balochistan is only the province in Pakistan where people can pay their taxes whole week without any holiday, said provincial advisor. The data of registered vehicles from Balochistan have feed in Central Data Centre, he said, adding that people can easily verify their vehicles anywhere of Pakistan.

NADRA and Balochistan Excise Department has signed MoU for the identification seller and purchase of vehicles, said Naeem Bazai.
