Centre must take Balochistan leadership on board over Oil Refinery agreement: BA

QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly through adopting a joint resolution demanded of the federal government to ensure keeping the overall interests of Balochistan while signing proposed agreement with Saudi government on establishing Oil Refinery in Gwadar.

QUETTA: The Balochistan Assembly through adopting a joint resolution demanded of the federal government to ensure keeping the overall interests of Balochistan while signing proposed agreement with Saudi government on establishing Oil Refinery in Gwadar.

Te resolution was jointly moved by the Provincial Minster, Engineer Zamarak Khan Piralizai and BNP-Mengal’s Sana Baloch in the house that was presided over by Deputy Speaker Sardar Babar Khan Musakhail, on Saturday evening.

The resolution further read that Islamabad must taken Balochistan government and members of parliament while signing Oil Refinery and other development projects on the soil of Balochistan.

Opposition and government members while speaking on the resolution said that they have objection on investment of any country and just want to ensure the protection of the Baluchistan’s rights in the agreements under which any one wanted to do investment in our soil.

Sana Baloch while moving the resolution said that along with providing technical assistance, technical training, resolving environmental and other issues should be ensured. He said that Balochistan assembly and provincial government should be taken on board on every agreement for the investment in Balochistan.

Zamarak Khan Piralizai while speaking on the resolution said that Saudi Arab, China and Japan who ever wanted to make investment in Balochistan must ensure to protect the rights of the people and take steps for Elimination of poverty through establishing technical and other educational institution for the people of the area and providing technical training so they could be benefited from the investment.

“Opposition and government is on one page for the protection of Baluchistan’s rights and would not compromise on it,” Mr. Piralizai said adding that they would not allow anyone to sell out the resources of Balochistan.  He said that with ignoring the public representative and provincial government the sense of deprivation would be increase. He said that without approval of the Balochistan Cabinet any agreement about Gwadar will be no legal status.

“We cannot close over eyes over agreements about Balochistan,” he said and added that Balochistan government and assembly must be taken on board by Federal government while signing any agreement about Balochistan.

Provincial Minister for Information, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi said that jam led coalition government from the very first they taking steps to protect the rights of Balochistan and had decided that land would not be sale out any investor or company who wanted to make investment in Balochistan. “Land would be given on lease and government would keep the ownership with it,” Mr. Buledi said
