QUETTA: The 12 Days IPV anti polio campaign to be kicked-off in Quetta Block comprising on Quetta, Pishin and Qilla Abdulla from today targeting 732585 children below the age of five in sensitive Quetta Block.

QUETTA: The 12 Days IPV anti polio campaign to be kicked-off in Quetta Block comprising on Quetta, Pishin and Qilla Abdulla from today targeting 732585 children below the age of five in sensitive Quetta Block.

At least 2686 team have been established that would administer anti-polio drops and vaccine at fixed and out-reach sites in Quetta Block comprising Qilla Abdullah and Pishin.

“1193 Vaccination, 1193 Team Assistants and 300 Community Mobilizers have been taking part in the 12 days Anti Polio Campaign and IPV in three Districts of Balochistan.” Coordinator Emergency Operation Centre Quetta Rashid Razzaq said.

Pakistan Afghanistan and Nigeria are the only three countries in the world where Polio Virus still active. Total 12 new polio cases surfaced in Pakistan during last years among Balochistan shared total four cases. And in 2019 four new polio cases emerged in Pakistan.

“The IPV Program would be helpful to control rapid spread of Polio virus in some areas of Balochistan where polio virus still endemic and endangering our children.” Rashid Razzaq said added Security arrangement were completed to protect the polio workers during 12 days campaign.

He urged parents to administrate their children with Anti-Polio drops and injection and cooperate with polio volunteers on streets to save the future of this country.
