QUETTA: Polio is highly infectious disease that transmits from one affected person to other. In order to control this disease, helping to the health teams is indispensable.

QUETTA: Polio is highly infectious disease that transmits from one affected person to other. In order to control this disease, helping to the health teams is indispensable.

The propagandas related to the polio are baseless. The successfulness of Polio campaign is necessary to save our children from physical disabilities.

The Assistant Commissioner of Mastung, Mudasir Hassan Qesarani, while addressing with the participants of one-day long Workshop arranged by UNICEF at Elementary College Hall said, civil society,  religious scholars and media should play their role in spreading awareness about this infectious disease.

The participants of seminar include polio eradication officer of Mastung, Dr Naveed Badeni, UN staff officer, Dr Abdul Waheed and members of key political parties were present.

The participants while speaking at the occasion said, Polio is an infectious disease that can spread quickly. Owing to this disease, minor age children got disable and become dependent on others life-long.

They said, the polio virus has been eliminated from throughout the world, while this virus still exists in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nigeria respectively.

They said, eight cases of polio have been reported. Thereby health teams reach door to door for vaccination of children.

They appealed from religious scholars, media persons and civil society to play their role in spreading awareness about this disease.
