President QCCI alleges custom for sparing smugglers

QUETTA: President Balochistan Chamber of Commerce & Industries Jumma Khan Badezai and Vice President Salah udd Din Khilji said, the custom officials foiled in preventing smuggling in the province alleging custom officials for emboldening smugglers.

Talking to members of provincial chamber of commerce on Thursday, the President Jumma Khan Badezai has slammed custom department over not taking decisive action against smuggling alleging custom officials for emboldening smugglers in harming local business activities,

“On daily basis tiles and fresh fruits being smuggled from neighboring countries into Balochistan that has been harming provincial economy as millions of rupees being gone in corruption.” Haji Jumma Badezai said.

Expressing dissatisfaction over Collector Custom’s efforts for discoursing corruption in the province President COC said, we haven’t seen any sincere attempts by custom officials against smuggling but illegal trade activities from bordering area continued blatantly,

“Members of COC Balochistan from the very first day opposed smuggling culture in Balochistan and we have been paying billions of rupees against government taxes.”

Members of Chamber of Commerce Balochistan urged Prime Minister Imran Khan to take immediate action against corrupt officials involved in allowing smuggled goods in the country saying without taking strict action against smugglers the economy couldn’t be sustainable.
