QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan on Monday met with Iranian Counsel General Mohammad Rafiei discussing Pak-Iran bilateral trade and economic relations.

QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan on Monday met with Iranian Counsel General Mohammad Rafiei discussing Pak-Iran bilateral trade and economic relations.

During the meeting Chief Minister Balochistan and Iranian Counsel General stressed upon Pak-Iran border points trade and Economic Zones to foster bilateral economic relations amid both countries while discuss implementation of decision taken during Pak-Iran joint border commission and Joint border trade commission.

“Today relations between countries lingering upon trade and economic relation and ties with neighbouring countries could be strengthened through boosting trade activities.” CM Balochistan Jam Kamal said adding unrest in the region has declined economic stability in Pakistan and Iran.

He added, incumbent central and provincial governments have been taking measures to enhance trade with Iranian adding both governments have been proceeding to curb drug smuggling and bring peace in bordering towns,

“Tax free border markets amid Pakistan and Iran would boost economic ties between both neighbouring countries.” Jam Kamal said and informed the Counsel General regarding security measure for pilgrims travels from Balochistan to Iran.

CM Balochistan and Iranian Counsel General Muhammad Rafiee were agreed upon that legal trade between Pakistan Iran would directly benefits ordinary citizens stressing upon to increase Pak-Iran trade up to 5 billion dollars.

“Both nations have social, political and cultural relations from decades therefore Iranian Government has always given importance to its relation with Pakistan.” Muhammad Rafiee said calling Balochistan an important bridge between Pak-Iran road connection and CPEC.

He announced that Pak-Iran Free Economic Zone would be inaugurated at Mir Jawa in coming days adding Iran was willing to sell Iranian fuel to Pakistan on cheap prices.

During the one to one meeting Iranian Counsel General invited CM Balochistan to visit Iranian Province Saistan Balochistan.
