QUETTA: A high-level meeting of Balochistan Government with Federal Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan was agreed upon to take on board Balochistan Government regarding exploration of natural resources in the province pledging Balochistan’s due share from income of provincial natural resources.

Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Deputy Speaker BA Babar Khan Musakhail, Provincial Minister Zahoor Buledi, Naseebullah Mari, Zia Langove, Saleem Khosa Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai, Secretaries and officials from Petroleum Department were present in the session held in CM Secretariat on Friday.

First time the oil and gas rich province was pledged of representation in Board of Directors of companies in Petroleum Division.

The session has decided to establish Joint Working Group comprising on Federal and Provincial Officials that would be responsible to look after the affairs of Sui Mining Lease, Licensing Zones and protection of provincial rights under 18th amendment and Petroleum Policy.

The Session was agreed upon to end all reservations of provincial government while the Working Group has been precluded to prepare all affairs and present in one month.

Expansion of Mining area in Saindak, installation of LPG plants, criteria of Mining and Exploration License, exploration of mineral in block 28, gas pressure and gas tariff for residential consumers and Balochistan’s representation in OGDCL and PPL were thoroughly discussed in the session.

“The Federal Government has allowed us for mining in one block but we seek rights in further two blocks because exploration process yields jobs and starts economic activities in the area.” CM Balochistan Jam Kamal said while addressing the session.

Sharing his views on the coalition of Balochistan Awami Party and Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf on Federal and Provincial level CM Jam Kamal said, BAP and PTI will set a precedent of biletral cooperation because we seek to move with generosity,

“We have witnessed high-level session in past but didn’t see implementation on decision but now there should be progress on all decision because the centre is responsible to take all province together.” Jam Kamal said stressed upon quick installation of LPG Plants in Balochistan.

Endorsing CM Balochistan’s stance Federal Minister for Petroleum Ghulam Sarwar Khan said, OGDCL and PPL must preclude for making partnership with provincial government in exploration of mineral and gas projects pledging the provincial rights would be secure at any cost.
