QUETTA: The Balochistan Educational Employees Action Committee on Saturday protested outside Provincial Assembly against Provincial Government’s newly announced educational 2018 barring teachers from strikes and protests.

Expressing outrage over government’s move the Teachers Action Committee stage a rally from Metropolitan Garden, chanting fully throat slogans against Educational Act 2018 the protesting teachers set a sit-in outside Provincial Assembly when proceeding was continue.

Rejecting the Educational Act the teachers have vowed to continue protest against provincial government attempts to deprive teachers from their basic rights.

“Ironically the provincial government during its initial stages attempted to steal the rights of teachers which is consider the most respected sector of any society.” Protesting teachers said adding upon our call protest would be recorded in all divisional headquarters.

The Government of Balochistan has introduced new Educational Act 2018 imposing bans on Teachers from protest and strikes in educational institutes. Jam Kamal led Provincial Government termed education as mandatory service and imposed one year prison and rupees 100,000 fine on protesting teachers.

Expressing solidarity with protesting teachers the opposition members Malik Sikandar Advocate, Sana Baloch, Malik Naseer Shahwani and Ahmed Nawaz Baloch have assured the protesters that outside and inside the house they stand with teachers adding opposition parties also unable to understand government’s new act,

“Indeed the educational sector of Balochistan has been under grips of myriad of woes but by terming Education as mandatory service, we can’t deprive teachers from their due rights.” Opposition members addressed the protesters.

The coalition members of provincial government ANP’s Asghar Khan Achakzai and Engineer Zamrak Khan have shown solidarity with protesters adding the coalition partners should have taken into confidence while announcing new reforms.

Upon Assembly members’ assurance the protest supressed peacefully and ended up their protests.
