QUETTA: The Founder of Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), Saeed Ahmed Hashmi, expressed concern over the disclosure of Federal Minister of Planning, Khusru Baktiyar, about the neglect of western route of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

He said the reservations of political parties and people of Balochistan regarding western route of CPEC proved right.

It was included among the priorities of the reservations the political parties of the province had raised.  While once the reservations of the political parties started to gain strength regarding western route, the Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, inaugurated the western route at Mugal Khot, apparently pretending to overcome the reservations of the political parties. He said.

While it was later disclosed that the route via Zhob to Dera Ismail Khan was in fact an old project of Asian Development Band, it was nothing to do with the western route. He added

He further said, as the planning minister has recently denied the existence of Western route in CPEC. He said, it is similar to a non-serious game and trick the center played with the people of Balochistan.

He termed this act of federal government “a tremendous injustice with the people of Balochistan”. This act of center would not only increase the deprivations of people reside in Balochistan rather CPEC may not bring expected results. As the Gwadar is the epicenter of this multi-billion dollar project.

He demanded from government to not lose the last chance to avert the deprivation of the people of Balochistan and usher peace and prosperity in Balochistan. If this chance missed, then the expectations of the development of Balochistan may hardly fulfill.
