RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa presided over the 216th Corps Commanders’ Conference at Army’s General Headquarters on Thursday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

According to a press statement from the military’s media wing, the forum reviewed the geo-strategic environment with special focus on regional security and the situation on Pakistan’s eastern and western borders including the Line of Control (LoC).

Progress of ongoing stability operations for internal security was also discussed, it said.

The military’s top commanders also pledged to safeguard the country against all external threats while consolidating gains of counter-terrorism military operations, which have put the security situation of the country on a positive trajectory for socio-economic progress and development.

“We shall continue to support all state institutions for peace, stability and progress of the country in best interest of the people of Pakistan,” the COAS concluded.
