CHAGAI: Chairman District Council of Chagai Mir Dawood Khan Notezai lashed out at current local bodies system in Balochistan and urged the provincial government to adopt the proposed system being introduced in Punjab and KPK by PTI led government.

He stated these views while addressing the budget session of District Council Chagai for 2018-19 fiscal year. ‘’We enthusiastically contested the local bodies election in 2013 but disappointed when came to know that representatives of local bodies don’t have enough funds and administrative powers’’ Mr Notezai regretted.

He further said they couldn’t serve the masses and weren’t able to resolve their issues due to ineffective local bodies system. Only2 million rupees were allocated for every Union Council Chairman on every fiscal year, Imagine what they could do with this small amount? He questioned.

He suggested that local government representatives should be given enough funds and administrative powers so that they can perform their services in better way. He also criticized the deteriorating law and order situation,

administrative incompetence and issuance of identity documents to Afghan refugees in Chagai district and demanded the concerned authorities to play their role in this regard. Earlier Chairman District Council of Chagai Mir Dawood Khan Notezai presented the Rs 9,2867950 of budget for 2018-19 fiscal year at his office in Dalbandin where most of District Council members except opposition councilors.
