QUETTA: Following the directions of CM Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan, the health department has commenced crackdown against medicines companies and store selling fake and counterfeit medicines.

QUETTA: Following the directions of CM Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan, the health department has commenced crackdown against medicines companies and store selling fake and counterfeit medicines.

The medical teams on Wednesday visited numerous medicine markets and medical stores in the provincial capital and reviewed the medicine being sold to the masses.

Acting upon the provincial Drug Regulation act the provincial government has directed all Deputy Commissioners to launch strict action against medical owners selling fake medicines.

The Health Department has precluded all medical stores owners and companies to hire professional staff having medical training and knowledge, “Strict action will be taken against medicine companies and stores violating government instruction while all Deputy Commissioners have been ordered to provide full assistance to health department’s teams taking part in crackdown against counterfeit medicines.” Health officials said.

In First week of October the Drug Inspectors have inspected 42 medical stores in Quetta while 15 medicines have been sent in laboratories for forensic examine. Un-licensed medical stores have been sealed while two references have been sent to Anti-Drug court.
