QUETTA: The clashes erupted between Pak-Afghan border forces on Sunday over exchange of harsh words over border fencing in Sakan Kanarr the bordering town. Pakistani authorities shut the friendship gate for all kind of movements following tense situation between neighboring countries.

QUETTA: The clashes erupted between Pak-Afghan border forces on Sunday over exchange of harsh words over border fencing in Sakan Kanarr the bordering town. Pakistani authorities shut the friendship gate for all kind of movements following tense situation between neighboring countries.

The Pakistani border guard were busy in border fencing when Afghan border forces attempted to stop the border fencing work at Sakan Kanarr causing exchange of harsh words between both border forces. The dispute turned into battle after both forces used exchange of firing with small weapons which further disturbed already tense relations between both neighboring countries.

Pakistan has started border fencing alongside Afghan border in KPK and Balochistan to prevent terrorist and smugglers from entering Pakistan through illegal routes at 2400km porous border. Numerous rounds of negotiation between Pak-Afghan officials didn’t yield any result and Afghanistan has been opposing Pakistan’s move of securing its border with Afghanistan.

Following Sunday’s clash the Pakistani officials have closed the friendship gate at Pak-Afghan border in Chaman suspending all kind of trade movements including supply vehicle for NATO Forces battling in Afghanistan.

The Pakistani forces were working on border fencing when Afghan soldiers deliberately attempted to disturbed the work and used abusive language to provoke Pakistani border guards.

Hundreds of people on both sides have stranded due to recent Pak-Afghan border clash while people living in bordering town were gripped under fear.

Pakistan has increased its troops at along with Pak Afghan border while border patrolling has been expanded to control any violation by Afghan forces.

Residents of Chaman staged protest against the Afghan border Inspector General of Border Police Commander Abdul Raziq and expressed full solidarity with Pakistan borer forces.

The Protesters chanted fully throat slogans against Afghan IGP Raziq Achakzai for provoking border clashes at Pak-Afghan bordering town Chaman.
