QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani has said, waste of funds can be barred when all provincial departments work under their jurisdiction lamenting over lack of planning and sincerity in Government departments.
Chairing a high-level to review the performance of provincial Urban Development Department on Wednesday CM Balochistan has said, the incumbent provincial government has been facing woes as many government departments exceeded from their jurisdiction and participated in preparing development projects,
“Unfortunately we didn’t take seriously the Quetta Master Plan which stranded people of Quetta in myriad of problems and master plans for Divisional Headquarters were prepared with week grounds.” CM Balochistan Jam Kamal said adding poor planning caused waste of resources.
Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Sajjad Ahmd Bhutta, and Secretary Urban Planning Development have briefed the session regarding departmental affairs.
Lamenting over issuing tenders with consultancy CM Balochistan said, tenders were issued with taking expertise of consultancy and funds were also released for un-planned development projects,
“The Provincial Departments were fond of constructing government buildings and parks but we are not able to maintain them for longstanding period, we have working on a mechanism to preclude concern departments to take care of government assets built under concern department’s supervision.” Jam Kamal said.
He directed Urban Planning and Development Department to obtain assistance from consultancy and create jobs of Town Planners in their department adding the department must prepare master plans for Quetta and Divisional Headquarters.
Jam Kamal directed ACS to conduct a session for reviewing the performance of provincial urban planning development department.
Sharing the briefing on development projects under Quetta Development Package, DG QDA Farooq Langove has informed the CM Balochistan regarding development projects underway in the provincial capital.
