QUETTA: The EIP Balochistan held a one day media orientation session in Quetta on Wednesday sharing the details of Measles campaign in Balochistan.

Deputy Provincial Coordinator Dr. Ishaq Panezai and Immunization Officer of UNICEF Dr. Orangzeb Kamal and Health Department officials given intensive briefing over measles outbreak and government efforts to prevent the diseases.

“The Health Department has commenced 12 days anti-measles campaign in 33 Districts of Balochistan 2340,000 children across the province would be administrated with anti-measles vaccine.” Deputy Provincial Coordinator EPI Balochistan Dr. Ishaq Panezai said.

“The Anti-Measles vaccine if fully secure and child friendly and parents can administer their children with vaccine in all Health Centers.”

At least 2417 teams of health experts have been participating in 12 days anti-measles drive in Balochistan while 75 mobile teams have been established to administer the vaccine among children from the age of 9 to 59 months.

Dr. Ishaq Panezai said, the measles affects the children didn’t take any dose of anti-measles vaccine, “Media community can play their vital role in fostering special segments over the importance of anti-measles vaccine.”

“Our media community has access in remote areas of the province therefore they must persuade parents with positive news to administer their children with anti-measles vaccine during 12 days drive.”
