Custom seizes Indian origin Gutkha worth Rs. 30M

QUETTA: Modern Custom Collectorate (MCC) Quetta has seized over 30 Rs. million of India origin Gutkha, Betel Nut, filter Khaini Naswar, cigarettes, diesel, Zinc Ingots and not custom paid vehicles.

QUETTA: Modern Custom Collectorate (MCC) Quetta has seized over 30 Rs. million of India origin Gutkha, Betel Nut, filter Khaini Naswar, cigarettes, diesel, Zinc Ingots and not custom paid vehicles.

The vehicles carrying smuggled goods were also taken into custody at Kolpur, Qila la Saifullah, Lakpass and Mani Kha, Custom Check Posts.

Zinc an ingot of 14400 kg was handed over to Customs by Qila Saifullah levies authorities. The market value of the zinc ingots were around 8 million rupees.  Customs officials also seized 13000 liters of smuggled Iranian diesel along with oil tankers at Lakpass Check Post.

Non customs paid vehicles were also recovered by MCC Quetta officials from certain parts of Quetta city. This crackdown against diesel and NCP vehicles was made on the directives of the Federal Tax Ombudsman (FTO). Gutkha Betel Nut Filter Khaini Naswar was recovered from Hino Truck by Kolpur Custom Check Post, while huge quantity of the foreign made cigarettes were also recovered at Mani kha Check Post.

Collector Custom Quetta Ashraf Ali said here on Thursday that anti smuggling drive has been launched in different of Balochistan to discourage smuggling.
