QUETTA:A conference held in Quetta Press Club on Monday stressed upon provincial level legislation to halt drugs trafficking, because the drugs addiction promoting bagging, unrest and robbery culture in Balochistan.

Provincial Opposition Leader Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, BNP’s central leader and former Senator Nawabzada Haji Lashkari Raisani, ANP’s Haji Nizam ud Din Kakar, HDP’s Raza Wakeel and other political parties’ members and government officials participated in the one day seminar conducted by Provincial Rehabilitation Department.

Addressing the seminar they said, provincial government is responsible to make effective legislation to discourage drugs culture from Balochistan, “In next General Election we should elect representatives who effectively work to prevent drugs trafficking because a large number of people particularly our youth are being indulged in drugs addiction.”

Citing Islamic culture they said, drugs addiction is forbidden in Islam but unfortunately Islamic countries are more taking part in drugs purchasing.

“Due to lack of State Management and negligence of Anti Narcotics Force (ANF), drugs culture is being promoted in Balochistan, we are the gate of 40% International Drugs’ trade.” They lamented and added we have to bare this culture introduced by Zia regime.

They demanded strict action against drugs traffickers spreading their networks in Educational Institutions.
