COAS arrives in Kabul to attend Chief of Defence Conference

KABUL: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa arrived in Kabul on Tuesday to attend the Chief of Defence (CHOD) Conference, reported Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

KABUL: Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa arrived in Kabul on Tuesday to attend the Chief of Defence (CHOD) Conference, reported Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to the army’s media wing, Commander US CENTCOM, Commander Resolute Support Mission (RSM) and Afghan Army Chief will also participate in the conference.

Details suggest that the senior military officers will discuss mutual security challenges, improve mutual relationships and foster security cooperation.

A day before, the Army Chief met with Mr Ishan Mustafa Yurdakul, newly appointed Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan. Matters of mutual interest including regional security issues were discussed during the meeting.

Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Mr Mehdi Honardoost also called on General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ. During the meeting matters of mutual interest and Pak-Iran border management were discussed.
