QUETTA: The National Party, once a key partner in the coalition Government, had opted independent benches keeping the party away from the Treasury Benches and Opposition.

This was announced by the party spokesman, Mr. Jan Mohammad Buleidai, while talking to newsmen. “We will not be part of the Government or Opposition keeping the party away from Ministry making,” Mr. Buleidai said. “The party will remain neutral,” he clarified.

The NP spokesman claimed that the party had an eye on political development and it had divorced its relations with the ruling coalition and followed an independent policy. “Even our MPAs will not cast their votes while the House electing a new leader, he added.

“We have served the people for four years and in future,” he said. He said our party had served the people selflessly and plans to serve them in future also being part and parcel of the democracy traditions and values.

Mr. Jan claimed that his party was not involved in bartering away the rights of the people and the National Party always defended it with full vigour and force.

He pledged to support democratic traditions and values in future by remaining an ally of the democratic forces defending the rights of the people.
