QUETTA: Provincial Home Minister and Tribal Affairs Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Director General PDMA Muhammad Tariq said in a joint statement that there is an immediate need to aware masses regarding Natural Disaster and they should follow precautions.

Lamenting on building code violation they said, tallest building being constructed across Quetta city that endangering people lives.

“Administration has to preclude building code violators to follow the precautions and take strict action against building code violators.” They added.

Talking on illicit tube-well they said, for agriculture purpose farmers across Balochistan digging illegal tube-wells that causing severe threats to water level in Quetta Valley.

“Only in Quetta city there were more than 2200 illegal tube-wells that might cause drought in the Valley; to void water crisis we need to preserve water resources.” they added.

Directing concern authorities to take action against illegal tube-wells they said, we have decided to build more dams to preserve precious water.

They said awareness campaign should be intensified and expanded across Balochistan so we could appease damages due to natural disasters. Pakistan Disaster Management Authority is active in awareness campaign among public and civil society should come forward in this volunteer campaign.

Balochistan is considered as the home of natural disasters. During the past one decade, more than eight natural disasters were reported in this part of the world and the officials, generally failed to mitigate the human sufferings. Most of the natural disasters were devastating earthquake, unprecedented torrential rains, floods and drought.

At the present moment, more than 20 huge districts of Balochistan are facing drought conditions and the Government is found unmoved and unaware about the calamity that had destroyed the local economy to an unprecedented level.
