QUETTA: – Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) once again became a single majority party in Balochistan with the strength of 13 as three MPAs who had been elected as independent candidates, have joined PPP after meeting with Asif Ali Zardari in Islamabad.

Three independent MPA elect who joined PPP include Asfandyar Kakar, Mir Liaquat Ali Lehri and Maulana Noor Ullah who defeated JUI-F provincial Emir Maulana Abdul Wasey in the election from Qila Saifullah.

The party sources said one more independent member is also going to join the PPP in the next 24 hours after that party will choose the parliamentary leader of the partly who will lead the coalition government in Balochistan.

However, PPP has yet to finalize the name of its candidate for the top slot, who will lead the next government in the province.

Sources said that the PPP high command has discussed the formation of a coalition government in Balochistan with the party’s MPAs in a meeting held in Islamabad. At least three names were discussed for the top slot of the coalition government. According to the party
sources, the names of Sardar Sanaullah Zehri, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, and Zahoor Buledi remained under discussion.

“Yes, the names were under discussion for the top slot of the province but no decision was taken so far,” a senior PPP leader who was part of the meeting revealed.

However, members have reservations on the names of Nawab Zehri and Sarfraz Bugti. The PML-N Balochistan leaders are also expressing reservations on the names of Nawab Zehri and Mr. Bugti.
However, a senior PPP leader revealed that the final decision is expected after the allotment of women and minorities reserved seats and the final decision between PPP and PML-N about the formation of a coalition government at the federal level.
