QUETTA: Caretaker Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Ali Mardan Khan Domki, has said that the government is well aware of the difficulties facing the transporter community, and the trucks stuck at the location of the Chaman sit-in will be brought back within two days.

He expressed these views during a meeting with the delegation of All Pakistan Oil Tankers Association on Saturday. Commissioner Quetta Division, Hamza Shafqaat, was also present at the occasion.

He mentioned that, on the directions of the Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar, they are in contact with the transporters and the relevant authorities to get the loaded trucks out, which are stuck at the location of the Chaman sit-in. They are well aware of the financial challenges facing the truck owners and the drivers.

The president of the All Pakistan Truck Association, Shams Shahwani, said that the loaded trucks with goods have been stuck at the location of the Chaman sit-in for two months. He mentioned that they have reached out to authorities through all possible means, but no outcome was derived from it. Therefore, at last, they were forced to resort to protests and highway blockades.

Shams Shahwani highlighted that after the meeting with the Caretaker Chief Minister of Balochistan, they are in constant contact with the relevant authorities, and it is hoped that this issue will be resolved soon.
