Balochistan has been facing countless problems in the past years that remain unsolved. Electricity is one of the major issues for the citizens here. Every summer, this problem persists without being addressed. The province has been suffering from this for many years, causing concern among the populace, which in turn has a detrimental effect on them.

Turbat, a city in the district of Kech, lacks proper electricity management. It is one of the hottest cities in the country, with record-breaking temperatures. Despite this, little has changed. These hot days without electricity can be terrifying for residents, who cannot enjoy a peaceful meal at home. This is one of the most pressing issues facing the city.

Nevertheless, nights bring discomfort to people’s bedrooms. Electricity goes out at 11:00 PM daily and returns at 4:00 AM, disrupting sleep patterns and making it difficult for babies and the elderly to rest during both day and night. Newborns, especially, struggle to survive in such hot conditions.

Furthermore, schools, colleges, and universities face the same issue. With intermediate exams approaching, students require uninterrupted electricity for their studies. Lack of electricity affects their ability to concentrate on lectures, impacting their academic performance and career prospects.

Despite paying their bills, residents are not provided with consistent electricity. While financially stable individuals can invest in solar systems for their homes, the poor are left without recourse. Middle-class families, who struggle to meet basic needs, cannot afford such systems.

Authorities must take decisive action to ensure proper electricity provision and not compromise on it. They should oversee not only cities like Turbat but also every city in the country, particularly during the summer months. Prompt action is necessary, as summer has already arrived with its sweltering heat.
