QUETTA: Another mother along with her infant perished in District Headquarter Hospital Dera Bugti on Thursday raising total number of maternal deaths to 19 in last six months in the district due to lack of lady doctors.

QUETTA: Another mother along with her infant perished in District Headquarter Hospital Dera Bugti on Thursday raising total number of maternal deaths to 19 in last six months in the district due to lack of lady doctors.

According to details, Muhammad Nawaz Mandwani resident of Ranko Illabad area of Dera Bugti brought her pregnant wife to the District Headquarter Hospital on Friday morning but she died along with newly born baby for want of adequate treatment.

It was the 2nd reported maternal death in Dera Bugti during August and 19th from last six months as none of gynecologists is willing to perform duty in the District which is adding to MMR and IMR in the district.

During last election campaigns residents of Dera Bugti demanded appointment of a lady doctors in Dera Bugti to halt further loss of innocent lives of females and children.

The residents of Dera Bugti are compelled to take their patients to Punjab as there are not basic healthcare facilities in the Districts for the past many years which endangering women lives.
