QUETTA: Two levies personnel were martyred and another injured seriously in an armed attack on levies in main Qila Saifullah Bazaar, late on Tuesday night.

It was second armed attack on levies personnel in Qila Saifullah Town in last three days. Two days back a senior levies officer Resaldar Major Muhammad Afzal Akhtarzai was gunned down by unknown armed men.

Official sources said that unknown armed men opened indiscriminate firing on levies officials in the main Bazaar of the town who were on patrolling.

A result of firing two levies personnel were killed on the spot and other was injured. Soon after the attack law enforcement agencies rushed to the site and after cordoning off the area engaged the attackers. Heavy exchange of fire was reported between armed men and levies personnel.

However, the armed assailments managed to escape from the site. The bodies and injured levies man was shifted to district hospital. “Both the levies men who were killed in the firing had received multiple bullet injuries on the upper half of the body,”

levies officials said. The victims’ levies men were identified as Akram Khan and Muhammad Kabir while injured was Khairullah.
No one has claimed the responsibility of the attack so far. A complete strike had been observed in Qila Saifullah the other day against the killing of Levies force Resaldar Major Muhammad Afzal Akhtarzai.

Three levies personnel had been killed last week in Pishin district when unknown terrorists carried out remote control motorcycle bomb blast to target Assistant Commissioner Barshor. However, he was not present in the vehicle targeted by the terrorists.
