QUETTA: The Provincial Government has made all arrangement for Ashoura Processions across Balochistan closing Friendship gate at Pak-Afghan border while trade activities were halted at Zero Point Pak-Iran border.

QUETTA: The Provincial Government has made all arrangement for Ashoura Processions across Balochistan closing Friendship gate at Pak-Afghan border while trade activities were halted at Zero Point Pak-Iran border.

The Ashoura Procession are taking place across Balochistan with due reverence while the central procession of Ashoura will be commenced from Toghi road Quetta at 8:00am morning.

At least 5200 Police personnel and 2000 Frontier Corps’ troops have been deployed to protect the Ashoura Processions in the provincial capital Quetta. Three battalions of Pak Army will be on standby to prevent any untoward situation.

The Quetta Police have complete checking and sweeping of Ashoura Procession’s route and all shops and market in Quetta’s Prince Road, Liquat Bazar, Abdul Sattar Road, Qandhari Bazar, Meezan Chowk, Alamdar Road, Mocongy Road, Toghi Road and Art School Road were sealed.

The Provincial Government has installed further CCTV Cameras across the city to continue monitoring the Procession as Police Control Room has been established in IG Police Office. Arial surveillance of the procession will be continue.

The Provincial Government has shut Friendship Gate at Pak-Afghan border and halted all activities at zero point the Pak-Iran border. Security Checking in Quetta’s entrance and exit point has already beefed up while all vehicle were being checked.

Mobile service across Quetta were suspended on Thursday evening over security threats while the Provincial Government has sent letter to the Federal Government asking of suspension of mobile service from 7am till 9pm following Ashoura Procession.
