QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan on Thursday decided to probe corruption into installation of two desalination plants at Gidani and Jiwani coastal areas completed by national exchequer of rupees one billion rupees.

QUETTA: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan on Thursday decided to probe corruption into installation of two desalination plants at Gidani and Jiwani coastal areas completed by national exchequer of rupees one billion rupees.

The Balochistan Development Authority had commence three projects of installing desalination plants in Jiwani, Pasni and Dam Jati to provide clean drinking water to the residents of the area.

Despite passage 12 years the desalination plants are non-functional compelling the citizens to buy private tankers. The Government of Balochistan had released rupees one billion rupees for the installation of two plants.

Over public complaints the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Balochistan has announced to launch investigation over the scam of rupees one billion rupees and issued notices to the responsible authorities.

Meanwhile taking notice over the water crisis in Gwadar, DG NAB Balochistan Mirza Muhammad Irfan Baig has directed authorities to intensify probe over the alleged corruption in installing water desalination plants in Gwadar.
