CHAGAI: For the first time Prince Fahad hospital in Dalbandin, which is also DHQ hospital in Chagai district,

has been running out of most necessary medicines for more than five months which resulted in lack of basic medicine and necessary instruments in the hospital’s emergency too but despite several recommendations noting have been done by the higher authorities yet.

According to sources the hospital has 0.5 million rupees qouta of medicines per year which is main reason for medicine shortage because the hospital has to facilitate more than 1000 patients on monthly basis, besides the emergency treatment and surgeries.

Due to non availability of medicines, the patients in emergency have to buy even cannula, band aid and stich from private medical centers while doctors also have to prescribe the most of medicines which are not available in the hospital’s stores.

Medical Superintendent of Prince Fahad hospital Dalbandin Doctor Muhammad Jumma Bugti has been staying in Quetta for long to get the required qouta of medicines from Medical Supply Department (MSD) of the Provincial Health Minister but there is no sign of any progress yet.

People from different school of thoughts have demanded provincial government, especially health department’s officials for easy and early provision of the required medicines for Prince Fahad hospital Dalbandin.
