ANP announce to support BAP candidate in Senate By-Elections

QUETTA: The Awami National (ANP)’s Parliamentary Leader and Provincial President Asghar Khan Achakzai on Sunday said, ANP will continue supporting BAP in Balochistan but the final decision will be announced after consensus with party’s Parliamentary Committee members.

Former Home Minister and Balochistan Awami Party’s candidate for vacated Senate seat Sarfaraz Bugti on Sunday met with the provincial leadership of ANP in Arbab House Quetta to gain the support of ANP’s Members Provincial Assembly for Senate Polls due on September 12.

“Today a delegation of Balochitan Awami Party came on our doors seeking our support in Senate Elections, we have political alliance with BAP in Balochistan and we want to continue our coalition support for BAP’s candidate.” Asghar Khan Achakzai said adding the final decision will be announced in next few days after consensus with ANP’s Parliamentary Committee members.

Provincial Minister for Forest Mir Zia Langove, ANP’s Nawabzada Umar Farooq Kasi and other leaders of both parties were presented in the meeting.

Asghar Khan Achakzai added, the coalition parties are going to hold sitting with Chief Minister Balochistan and where further discussion regarding Senate Election will take place.

Talking on the meeting former Home Minister and Senate candidate Mir Sarfaraz Bugti said, Awami National Party is our coalition partner in provincial government and we are optimistic that BAP will clinch its support for Senate Elections,

“We have clear majority in Provincial Assembly therefore we can swiftly win the vacated Senate Seat.” Sarfaraz Bugti said vowing he would become the voice of Balochistan in upper house of the Parliament.

Talking on BAP and ANP relations Sarfaraz Bugti said, Awami National Party is our modest coalition partner which unconditionally announced support for our government claiming I am sure we will get ANP’s support.

Replying to query regarding PTI’s candidate Mr. Bugti said, Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf is also our coalition partner in Balochistan therefore they should withdraw its candidate in my favor.
