QUETTA: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and Pakistan Islamic Relief (PIR) signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday to start a joint planning to save people during natural disasters and drought.

QUETTA: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and Pakistan Islamic Relief (PIR) signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday to start a joint planning to save people during natural disasters and drought.

Addressing the Ceremony Caretaker Provincial Minister for Public Health Engineering Mir Naveed Kalmati said that Climate Change is affecting our province and there is need of immediate steps by the concerned department and international organizations to avoid the side effects of climate change,

“The Provincial Government and Pakistan Islamic Relief had commenced Climate Change Awareness Campaign in Balochistan since August 6 which will be conclude on August 31st, adding that shows were conducted through radio regarding safety in the consequent disasters of climate change,” Naveed Kalmati added.

Stressing on serious planning on Climate Change and its effects on Balochistan Naveed Kalmati said that environmental experts, teachers and students should participate in the campaign and there is need of serious planning to save people from the hazardous effects of climate change.

“In future PDMA and Pakistan Islamic Relief have decided to launch joint efforts in order to mitigate the negative impacts of environmental and climate change in Balochistan,” Interim Minister for PHE said.
