QUETTA: The inaugural session of the new Balochistan Assembly was held here on Monday in which 58 MPAs-elect took oath while PML N’s Nawab Sanaullah Zehri and PK MAP’s Nasrullah zeray refused to take oath.

The 11th Session of Balochistan Assembly chaired by Speaker Raheela Durrani who also took oath from the elected Members of the Provincial Assembly during the inaugural session of the Assembly.

Balochistan National Party Mengal’s Chief Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal who announced to retain his National Assembly seat and vacated his Provincial Assembly seat while the Election Commission of Pakistan barred the final notification on PB 26 and PB 41. One women reserved seat is yet to be decided by political parties.

“I wholeheartedly welcome all new electable reached in the sacred house through transaction of democratic process, I am sure that you will follow the rules and custom of this honorable house in next five years.” Speaker Raheela Durrani addressed the members during inaugural session.

Hundreds of supporters of elected members were present in the first Assembly Session while strict security measure were adopted around the premises of Balochistan Assembly with deployment of Police, FC and Balochistan Constabulary.

In his first speech in the Assembly BNP Mengal’s elected MPA Sana Baloch said, the chaos in Quetta city for today’s session disturb many honorable MPAs as we were stuck in traffic for hours,

“In future’ Assembly sessions, the Assembly Secretariat should set cooperation with Police and other departments to make suitable traffic routes and a separate entrance for members of the provincial assembly.”

PTI’s Provincial Chief and Parliamentary Leader in the house Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind vowed that whether we chose government or opposition, PTI will continue strive for the rights of people of Balochistan pledging the house will represent the people of Balochistan.

The nominated Chief Minister of Balochistan Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani while talking to media after taking oath said, today is a blessed day for the people of Balochistan stressing upon legislation lead the people of the province towards a bright future,

“Tough we have announced Qudus Bizenjo as our candidate for Speakership, but the Deputy Speaker’s slot we kept for collation parties, in next two days the Deputy Speaker will be announced.”

With more interestingly 31 new faces took oath of the Assembly first time in their political career among BNP’s Ahmed Nawaz Baloch, JWP’s Nawabzada Gohram Bugti, BAP’s Zia Langove, PTI,s Umar Jamali and Mubin Khan are prominent names.

“People have shown their trust on us through their mandate, we have to deliver because if we don’t they will reject us in next elections.” Nawabzada Gohram Bugti said and vowed that provision of Health, Education and Clean Drinking water would be his priority in his constituency Dera Bugti.

Bushra Rind elected on reserved seat by Balochistan Awami Party pledged that with broad vision towards Education we will resolve the plight of education in Balochistan.

PML N’s only elected MPA and former Chief Minister Balochistan Nawab Sanaullah Zehri didn’t arrive in the Assembly for taking oath due to personal reasons but PK MAP’s Nasrullah Zerray refused to take Assembly oath,

“Today I am not taking oath to record my protest against blatant rigging on July 25 polls, I will take my oath in next session but our protest against manipulated elections by ECP and establishment will be continued.” Zerray added.

The Speaker Raheela Hameed Durrani adjourned the next Session on August 16 for the voting of Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the house.
